Spice Private Equity AG is a private equity and venture capital firm making investments through its subsidiary, Spice Private Equity (Bermuda) Ltd. The firm specializes primarily in direct investments held alone or in conjunction with other private equity investors in privately held companies or in the acquisition of shares of publicly listed companies. It may also invest by way of primary or secondary transactions in funds managed by GP Investments, Ltd. and occasionally in funds managed by third-party managers. Within direct investments, the firm seeks to invest in emerging markets, middle market, later stage, mature, late venture, industry consolidation, PIPEs, recapitalizations, buyout, and growth capital investments. For fund of funds investments, it invests in private equity, buyout, venture, and development funds based in North America, Europe, and rest of the world. It typically invests in companies in the following sectors: consumer goods, telecommunications, education, financial services, infrastructure, and healthcare services. The firm seeks to invest in companies based in Asia Pacific (between 50 percent and 60 percent), Sub-Saharan Africa (between 20 percent and 30 percent) and Latin America (between 20 percent and 30 percent). The firm seeks to invest in privately held companies or in the acquisition of shares of publicly listed companies in transactions which will normally allow for the investor group to exercise significant influence over the management of the investees. It prefers to make investments between $10 million and $60 million. It will  invest in assets denominated in foreign currencies.
