==Summary== Cabrito is a meat company on a mission to see all of the UK's billy goats become delicious food, instead of euthanised at birth. With its optimised supply chain & increasing sales, the multi award winning company is raising funds to meet demand and take advantage of a slice of the goat meat market. * 319% increase in online sales 2020 & 46% increase 2021 * Cabrito aims to follow venison's path to the supermarket shelves * Investors inc. Delamere, a global player in the goat milk industry * Already supplying national restaurant brand & supermarket supplier ==Idea== <vimeo>667169839</vimeo> Kid goats are a waste product of the UK dairy industry with thousands being euthanised every year. We believe it's unacceptable that healthy animals are euthanised at birth instead of going into the food system and we are working with the companies in the UK dairy industry to help change it. We have the animals reared for meat and then sell them to restaurants and the public via our online shop. Turning a waste product into an asset for the farmers & into delicious food. In 2019/20, pre-covid, we recorded £314k revenue (YE Mar 21 Rev £302k with loss of £30k). In Mar'20 in response to the closure of restaurants we pivoted to retail and saw a 319% increase in our online sales to £84k (Jan-Dec). That growth continued into 2021 with a 46% increase in YOY sales to £123k (Jan-Dec). This year we began supplying a national restaurant chain via a large wholesaler. Cabrito has won multiple awards including Observer Food Monthly Best Producer in 2014 & Good Housekeeping Best Meat Producer in 2016 and has featured in The Sunday Times, The Guardian, The Sunday Telegraph & on the BBC, with goat twice being the main course on the Great British Menu. With this investment we plan to move into a purpose-built butchery unit with a packing & distribution area with aims of improving customer service, expanding operations and better serving the retail & wholesale markets. ==Team== James Whetlor, Founder & MD is responsible for the marketing strategy and overall management. James used his London chef experience and contacts to build Cabrito and increase the profile of goat meat by supplying some of the country's top restaurants. Author of award winning book 'Goat: Cooking and Eating'. Sushila Moles, Co-founder (Part-Time), provides attention to financial detail and customer service. Former Festival Director at Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall's River Cottage. She has an MA in Food Anthropology. Ed Salt, Director (Part-Time), is the MD of Delamere Dairy that sells goat, cow, and plant based products through their own brands and as supermarket own label, throughout the UK and in 20 markets overseas. Delamere Dairy was awarded the Queens Award for Enterprise for its international trade achievements in 2016 and turned over £30M in 2020. Phil Ormerod, Director (Part-Time), has been farming for almost 30 years. Phil advises on all aspects of goat health and animal welfare and has been a driving force behind the industry practice towards rearing the kids for meat. ==Actions== To invest in Cabrito Goat Meat, click [https://www.crowdcube.com/companies/cabrito-goat-meat/pitches/bM0MgZ here].
