The fund invests in the stocks of companies operating across the financial sector. It uses SSO covered call writing strategy to invest in the securities of 6 banks namely, Bank of Montreal, the Bank of Nova Scotia, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, National Bank of Canada, Royal Bank of Canada, the Toronto-Dominion Bank and 4 insurance companies namely, Great-West Lifeco Inc., Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc., Manulife Financial Corporation, Sun Life Financial Inc. The fund seeks to benchmark the performance of its portfolio against the S&P/TSX Composite Index. The fund was formerly known as First Premium U.S. Income Trust.
