The company owns a 55% interest in the Round Lake and Jeannine properties consisting of 111 claims covering an area of approximately 52.93 square kilometers located in the Fermont iron ore district in the Labrador Trough in northeastern Quebec. It also holds a 100% interest in the Big Easy property that consists of 763 mining claims covering an area of 191 square kilometers located in Newfoundland and Labrador. The company was formerly known as Northfield Metals Inc. and changed its name to Cartier Iron Corporation in January 2013. Cartier Iron Corporation is based in Toronto, Canada.
