BLOK is an award-winning, multi-disciplinary studio and digital fitness platform with a sustainable approach to fitness. Our first site in Clapton, Hackney opened in Q1 2016, followed by Shoreditch in 2018, and Manchester in 2019. In May 2020 we launched BLOKtv and we now have close to 2,000 people joining our classes each week and customers in 134 countries.

In just three months, we’ve grown BLOKtv rapidly. To date we have had almost 30,000 plays of our video on demand classes

The Digital Fitness market has experienced annual growth of 33% since 2017- an opportunity worth billions in a market we believe is lacking a clear brand leader.

Our loyal community includes celebrities and influencers who actively promote BLOK on social media, strengthening the brand and driving footfall. We've hosted global stars such as Anthony Joshua, Jourdan Dunn, Kayla Itsines, Conor Benn and Alicia Vikander and our studios have featured on Britain's Next Top Model and Made in Chelsea.

In 2018 we raised over £891k from 571 investors on Crowdcube and we’ve grown by 2.8 times since our last round. We’re now raising again to accelerate the growth of BLOKtv and continue to build our digital community.

Ed Stanbury - Founder | CEO

Ed is responsible for driving BLOK’s strategy for growth, from a neighbourhood gym, to a global lifestyle brand. He brings 14 years’ experience in property development and construction to BLOK. He oversees all aspects of the business – financial, legal, contractual, site acquisition and lease negotiations.

Max Oppenheim - Founder | Creative Director

Max has many years' experience as an award-winning commercial photographer. He has shot campaigns for American Airlines, Fiat, Barbican, Selfridges and Virgin and numerous editorial and fashion clients. Max deals with all photography, brand direction and visual identity for BLOK.

Reema Stanbury - Founder | Brand Partnerships and Events

Reema’s background covers PR, Marketing, and brand development. She heads up all brand collaborations, events, corporate membership and the development of BLOK as a lifestyle brand.

Mark Edel-Hunt - Managing Director

Mark is considered an expert in change management and building comprehensive development and learning programs. At BLOK, Mark is focused on operational elements of the business including HR functions, budgeting, sales and Marketing, customer service and more.
