SummaryEdit

Inclusive Energy aims to disrupt the global energy access space. Our remote monitoring and analytics solutions for solar and biogas are already working in 17 countries, and provide the digital bridge between off-grid energy providers, end-users and carbon markets.

  • Growing product sales across 4 continents and 17 countries
  • Backed by leading impact investors Sustainable Ventures and Katapult
  • £1.2m equity and £730k in grants secured to date
  • Provisional patent protection in place

IdeaEdit

1.6 billion people still lack access to reliable clean power, and even more rely on harmful fuels like wood to cook for their families. Sustainable Development Goal 7 aims for energy access for all by 2030.

However, current approaches aren’t working fast enough. The market is highly concentrated, with technology and finance accessible to too few actors. In 2020, 68% of investment in off-grid solar went to just 10 companies.

Inclusive Energy seeks to disrupt this trend by leveraging rather than sidestepping local entrepreneurship, the unharnessed potential of which we have witnessed first-hand through lived experience in Africa and Asia. We do this by providing local solar PV and biogas players of all kinds with the technology they require to scale.

Our monitoring and control solutions have been designed to:

  • reduce operational costs
  • enable flexible financing, reducing up-front cost to end-users
  • provide tools to monetise carbon reductions

We have taken two products to market and have filed UK- and international patent applications. We are working with more than 30 companies across four continents, and are fundraising to build out our commercial team and bring new software and carbon trading revenue streams online.
