Levistor has gained a license to patented, flywheel energy storage technology, which is being further developed to enable electric vehicles to get 100 miles of charge in 5 minutes. Therefore, significant investment into the world's grid infrastructure is needed; in the UK alone, this could be up to £45B.We plan to install our flywheels near new EV charging points; charge from the grid when there are no cars, before discharging them into the fast-charge EV's on arrival. The aim is to charge in 5 minutes (300kW), rather than the 30 minutes (50kW), which is currently considered fast.- Highways England has supported the core technology with a grant of £880k.- 2 patent families covering the UK, Europe, Japan and China (pending in US).The technology was tested at City University and the Levistor test facilities using a 37kW flywheel.
