==Idea== <vimeo>537655077</vimeo> Qemistry aims to be the TikTok of dating, where profiles are made up of a series of short video clips. We've already been named in ‘The Top 20 Dating Apps’ list by The Telegraph, described as the ‘best app for young TikTok obsessives looking for love’. We believe dating apps are tired. They are all stuck in the same photo era of Facebook and Instagram, but social media has moved on. TikTok was the most downloaded app of 2020 as Gen Z moves away from the photo format and towards video as a form of expression. When we first came up with the idea we put on some branded t-shirts, and went out during Summer 2020 speaking to Londoners socialising in the parks. Based on that feedback, we built an MVP product which we ran during September and October 2020 with a 4.9* rating on the App Store. Now we’ve launched the full beta version App in London on an invitation-only basis, and we plan to introduce paid features next year. Dating services are worth over £200m a year in the UK alone. Qemistry has been built in consultation with our community from day 1, and fundraising is no different, which is why we want to crowdfund. This crowdfunding campaign will enable us to get bigger and better, faster. Specifically it will allow us to speed up development and digital marketing efforts. We think that the future of online dating will be video and it will be Qemistry, and we’d love for you to join us.
