==Idea== <vimeo>554660829</vimeo> We think that if McDonald’s or Burger King were to launch today, they would do so in a radically different way to how they did in the 20th Century, more likely focused on a digital-first experience and leveraging the internet to help reach new customers. At Taster, we want to redefine what it means to be a restaurant group in the 21st century; by combining strong brands, innovative technology and a model that works for restaurateurs and customers alike. We are proving that it is possible to quickly launch and scale popular food brands that don’t compromise on quality, customer experience or pleasure. To date, Taster has launched 5 highly successful digital restaurant brands with chefs and food personalities, is available in 11 cities across the UK, France and Spain and accounts for over 20 partners. In 2020 alone our revenue grew 110% to €10.5m (P&L -€4.2m) and we delivered over 1m meals. Our immediate ambition is to increase Taster’s presence across the UK, France and Spain and drive expansion into new cities, as well as to support the launch of two new consumer brands this year. Our ultimate goal is to take Taster global through more restaurants brands and licensed partner restaurants. Taster has raised $50 million to date from world-class investors such as Battery Ventures, Octopus Ventures Rakuten, LocalGlobe (Latitude) and Heartcore Capital.
