The Idea

Eli Lilly was founded in 1876 by Colonel Eli Lilly, a Civil War veteran and pharmacist. The company's original idea was to create high-quality, affordable medicines that would help people live healthier lives.


Mission Statement

Eli Lilly's mission statement is to "create medicines that make life better." The company is committed to developing innovative medicines that treat a wide range of diseases, including cancer, diabetes, and Alzheimer's disease.

Eli Lilly is a global company with operations in over 125 countries. The company's headquarters are located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
