In a trend-driven market, founders Bates and Miranda have built a brewing business with longevity, quality and sustainability in mind. Despite opening months before lockdown, we've tripled our team and output capacity in just 2.5 years, and are ready to expand production and build an atmospheric taproom. This will help capitalise on our 200% annual growth in brewery managed retail to £157k (FY to April 2022).

Duration’s home is a majestic grade 2* listed stone barn at a historic rural Norfolk site. Adding a bespoke taproom will make the most of this stunning location with a planning approved bar and kitchen, to include a huge glass window that looks across the 10th century priory site and farmlands beyond. Visitors will also be able to look back over operations, where cellar additions will help to grow our current capacity of 486k pints a year. Overfunding will be spent compounding Duration's sustainability practices: potentially adding a fourth brew vessel and water recapture to improve efficiencies, and planting a fruit orchard to encourage biodiversity and produce fruits for the wild ale program.

Duration has built a team of beer experts best in their respective fields

Bates - Head Brewer

Bates is hugely respected brewer who honed his skills at breweries and restaurants across the US. In the UK he helped develop MEATliquor into an international chain before joining BrewDog to develop their bar chain. He then worked as head brewer at the celebrated Brew By Numbers in Bermondsey before starting Duration with Miranda.

Miranda - Marketing

Miranda is our go getter. She worked with architects and design practises for almost a decade and sits on the steering board for Snehalaya, an international women’s charity running campaigns with Malala Yousafzai Foundation. Miranda’s remarkable skills lie in project management, brand development and communications.

Hamish - Operations

We consider Hamish a talented brewer and technician. With a degree in commercial accounting, he looks after all brewery systems and workflows, maximising efficiencies and managing the busy schedule. Responsible for our growing team and brewhouse, he ensures quality and consistency are always our focus.

Ben - Sales

As former key account manager at Magic Rock, Ben has a wealth of experience in brewery sales and an extensive contacts list in the beer industry. Responsible for our national sales growth and export, Ben has helped the brewery grow by 40% YOY since joining.
