On April 17, 1950, he was arrested by functionaries of the communist military services. He was tortured during the investigation. On October 29, 1951, the communist court sentenced him to death. On January 10, 1952 he was murdered in the Mokotów prison. The burial place is unknown. In 1956 he was posthumously rehabilitated and acquitted.
