Idea

Plum is built to improve financial outcomes for everyone by helping customers save, invest & spend smarter.

By connecting to people’s bank accounts or cards, Plum uses automation to help customers manage their wealth in a tailored and effortless manner across a wide array of financial products/asset classes, all within one app. Our measure of success? Aiming to expand our customers' wealth 20% by the end of their lifetime in a context where interest rates are lower than inflation.

Key highlights:

• Doubled users to ~1m in just 1 year – aiming for +4.5m in 2 years
• Saved & invested +$900m since inception; tripled AUM since last year
• Expanded into 3 EU markets (France, Ireland and Spain) and targeting the rest of Europe by the end of 2022 – expanding our reach by 6x
• Received initial European regulatory approval to offer investment products across Europe, allowing us to become one of the few Pan-European savings & investment platforms
• Beta launched a dedicated pension consolidation product so users can transfer & manage pensions via Plum’s own SIPP

Team

Victor Trokoudes – CEO and Co-founder

Before co-founding Plum, Victor was employee no. 5 in the UK and Head of International at Wise, where he launched the fintech unicorn into 25 new markets. In addition, he was previously a trader at Morgan Stanley. Victor studied Economics at Harvard University and holds an MBA @ INSEAD.

Paulo Pachi – Head of Marketing

As Head of Marketing, Paulo leads Plum’s growth and branding efforts. He was previously Head of Performance Marketing at Revolut, after leading Uber’s Performance Marketing efforts across Latin America.

Peter Simai – Ho Compliance and MLRO

Ex-Head of Compliance at Revolut’s trading arm. Previously at Cowen.

Charlie Bailey – Ho Partnerships

Ex-ClearScore, helped establish their marketplace as one of the largest in the UK and GM of South Africa.

Rish Sareen – Ho Operations

Ex strategy & operations at AIG’s AI lab and investment banking associate at J.P. Morgan. CFA charterholder, MBA from INSEAD.

Mathieu Van Assche – Ho Strategic Finance

Ex-Checkout.com Strategic Finance Analyst, helping with fundraising. Previously at Rocket Internet and Rothschild.

Jess Williams – Product Manager

Left Accenture in 2016 to launch UK’s 1st voice app startup. The Y-combinator backed company was acquired in 2019.

Kostis Giokas – Engineering Lead
