Possible ways to increase the valuation of the company:
- Refine the company mission to incorporate a much larger TAM, such as global financial services (rather than the UK market only).
- Determine and make clear the uniqueness of the company.
- Better company leadership.

Numis acquired by Deutsche BankEdit
On 13th October 2023, Numis was acquired by Deutsche Bank for £410 million.[1]
The deal was initially announced on 28th April 2023.[2]
At the time of the initial announcement, the most recently reported revenue of Numis is for the financial year ended 30th September 2022, and the revenue and revenue growth figures is £144.2 million and negative 33.1%, respectively.[3] EBIT, profit before tax and profit after tax is £19.08 million, £20.86 million and £13.70 million, respectively.[3] Net assets is £185.2 million.[3]
Accordingly, the valuation multiples of the deal are as follows: price/sales is 2.84x, price/earnings is 29.93x and price/book is 2.21x.

Innovate or be acquiredEdit
My view is that in order for the company to 'live' it either needs to 1) innovate or 2) be acquired by or merge with another company.

Banco Santander in early-stage talks to acquire Peel HuntEdit
On 17th September 2018, Banco Santander SA is reported to be in early-stage talks to acquire Peel Hunt, according to Sky News. However, the terms of any potential transaction are currently uncertain. Peel Hunt's CEO, Steven Fine, has referred to this development as mere press speculation and stated that the company is not up for sale. A representative for Banco Santander declined to comment on the matter.
