IdeaEdit

Common problem

We believe sourcing event vendors as a customer can be a nightmare, the process of consolidating, booking & receiving payment as a vendor is out-dated and can be stressful, time-consuming, & daunting. These prevent many events from running smoothly, within budget or on-time. Start-up vendors & sole traders find it difficult & expensive to market their services as they use platforms like Facebook which lacks payment protection.

Gap in the market

Finding a DJ, Photographer etc. for your event should be stress-free, affordable, on-demand & in one platform, right? The process is still not as easy as it is to instantly book a taxi using Uber or a trader from trust a trade.

Vendoir is being designed to operate as a marketplace model & plans to earn revenue through commission on each transaction & premium accounts.

Post pandemic

We anticipate a social boom waiting to happen post restriction. With a waiting list, community beta testing aimed for Q3& then an MVP product launch later in Q3 2021, we're strategically positioned to capitalise on overdue & rescheduled events. These will help vendors bounce back, start generating revenue & enable customers to book vendors(s) within budget.

The team has commenced regular meetups to engage the community & share ideas during the app development. We're fundraising to accelerate app development, marketing, and launch..

TeamEdit

Oshoma Zekeri (Co-founder & CEO) - Part-time

Instigator of this whole Vendoir thing. MSc holder, MBA at Aston Business School (in view). Held senior leadership roles with corporate experience previously consulting at Barclays, Refinitiv, Thomson Reuters, and has hosted events for years.

Yoma James (Co-founder & COO)

The heart and soul of Vendoir. Founder of City Vybez, an event promotion company, so he has industry experience of the problem at hand. He holds a BA / MA in Business Studies and a certificate in Venture Finance from the University of Oxford.

Charles Ofoegbu (Co-founder & CTO) - Part-time

Oversees Vendoir engineering and tech. He is a seasoned Software Engineer with over 10 years of experience in building and delivering high-performing, scalable, and secure enterprise-grade software solutions. Holds an MSc in Software Engineering (distinction) from the University of Southampton.

The motivation for starting Vendoir was in 2016 when Oshoma was looking for vendors for his event. It was difficult to get vendor(s) and the ones he found were overpriced and offering services he didn't need to justify their prices. 5 years later, we believe that there is still no suitable solution for people to instantly source, book on-demand vendors and make payments all in one place. Based on the team's experiences & backgrounds, they came together to tackle this problem.
